If you notice construction activity around Center Square during the Hanover Christmas Festival, please know that it’s all part of an important improvement project for our downtown.
The Downtown Route 94/116/194 Traffic Congestion & Pedestrian Safety Improvements Project is designed to improve traffic flow, modernize traffic signals, and make pedestrian crossings safer and more accessible throughout the Square and nearby intersections.
We know construction can be a little inconvenient, especially during one of Hanover’s busiest and most festive days of the year! We kindly ask for your patience, understanding, and a little holiday grace as this important project moves forward.
Thank you for supporting downtown Hanover and helping us build a safer, more accessible, and vibrant Square for years to come!
Please follow all posted signs, traffic directions, and instructions from construction and public safety personnel.

11:00 AM - 6:00 PM Inflatable Bounce House & Letters to Santa Post Office Open
11:00 AM - 6:00 PM Ride “Birch,” the Mechanical Reindeer! Take a festive spin on Birch, Hanover’s mechanical reindeer! Riders must be 48" tall or taller and must complete a waiver before riding. $5 per person, all proceeds benefit Main Street Hanover
12:00 PM – 2:00 PM | 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM Santa’s Cabin Open
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM | 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM Photos with Mrs. Claus. Capture a little Christmas magic with Mrs. Claus! Each participant will receive a special homemade cookie recipe, one of Mr. Claus’s favorites, to take home and bake throughout the holiday season.
12:00 PM, 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM: The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) movie screenings at the Eichelberger Performing Arts Center. $7 per ticket.

Santa’s Cabin is ADA accessible! When you arrive, please check in with the volunteer at the front of the cabin, who will gladly assist you with access through our ramp. Santa’s Cabin is a special partnership between Main Street Hanover and the Hanover Borough, and we are grateful for the Borough’s continued support in bringing this beloved holiday tradition to life each year.
