Parade Information

Are you interested in being part of the festive fun at this year’s Santa Parade? We’d love to have you join us! Whether you’d like to walk, ride, or decorate a bike, there’s a place for you in the celebration. Simply fill out the Parade Form or the Bike Decorating Form below to secure your spot. Let’s make this holiday season one to remember!

Arrival Time & Judging

  • Arrive no later than 10:30 AM at the Baer Avenue Playground. (100 Baer Ave)

  • Judging begins promptly at 10:15 AM — please be in your assigned spot on time.

  • Awards will be distributed before the parade begins and include:

    • Ray and Janet Black Spirit of Christmas Award

    • Best Float

    • Best Band

    • Best Walking Group

Lineup Locations

  • Walking Groups: Line up on Terrace Ave (perpendicular to Baer Ave).

  • Dignitaries (in cars): Line up in the alley near Middle Street, accessed via Fulton Street.

  • Floats, Fire Trucks, Antique Cars:

    • Line up on Baer Ave behind Terrace Ave

    • DO NOT enter via Middle Street

    • Use East Hanover Street or Pleasant Ave for best access

    • Please stay to the right side of the road for safety

Bike Riders (and Parents):

  • Riders may play at the playground but must remain with the Elf at the Carriage House (next to the alley).

  • Parents may walk with their child, or check them in with the Elves at the Bike Corral (Teal area on the map).

  • Pick-up is REQUIRED at the Cabin immediately after the parade.

    • Unclaimed children will be brought to the Fountain area

    • Elves are not babysitters, and the crowd is large—please help keep everyone safe!

Bands:

  • Hanover High School: Line up in front of the playground and will march directly behind the Grand Marshall.

  • South Western: Line up on Terrace Ave, just before Santa.

  • A separate email will follow with details for performances around the Cabin.

General Reminders & Rules

  • No Santa costumes. There is only one Santa in the parade, and he will arrive at the end.

  • Do not throw candy from floats or vehicles. (You may hand out items safely if walking.)

  • All content must be family-friendly — no obscene, vulgar, or inappropriate displays will be permitted.

  • All floats, walking groups, and vehicle entries are strongly encouraged to include music in their display to keep the parade lively and joyful for spectators of all ages!
